Poetry
Mr. Havelka’s Rotating Maid and Arson Service
The wind changed
It picked up
Smoke winnowing through the roof
Under the slates
A spark from the hot water heater
And the house is toast
All that work
I didn’t have to do
All the dirt and shit in the basement
All 10 of the vacuum cleaners
All the hotel soaps
The unread books
The rare woods
The old mattresses
Fucking GONE man
Chimneys standing
Above the skeleton
There’s no tomorrow
For the resident daddy long legs
Yesterday I watched it burn
Toes turned to icecubes
Why am I laughing?
Answer me, sausage face!
Azaleas like ice sculptures
Boil the water 11 min. for penne
Add ricotta
We could have roasted two cows and an elephant.
Joking and sneezing
The house is clean

You can buy my book of poetry,
The Faberge Wrecking Ball, right here.
Poetry Puffery:
I received a BA in Poetry and Gender Studies from Bard College, and went on to study at The Poetry Project in New York City. I currently take poetry classes with Hoa Nguyen in Austin, TX, and study poetry remotely with Larry Fagin. The Faberge Wrecking Ball is my first book of poetry. I will be included in a book of poets and their photos by John Sarsgard in 2012 or 2013. You know, whichever.
MORE PROFESSIONAL DETAILS:
I raised over $1M for nonprofits and then published “The Wild Woman’s Guide to Fundraising” in November, 2010, called one of the top 10 books of 2010 by Beth Kanter, nonprofit blogger and CEO of Zoetica. Also, I teach fundraising workshops and perform speaking engagements at colleges and conferences.
Right now I’m writing my second book, called The Wild Woman’s Guide to Social Media. To go with that, I help businesses by teaching them how to manage their digital reputations.
